ALLEN MAKES MOVE TO NEW ZEALAND CENTRAL PREMIER LEAGUE

BARRIE – The Simcoe County Rovers Football Club are excited to announce today that striker Leaford Allen has transferred to the Napier City Rovers in the Central Premier League.

Allen, a native of Brampton, Ontario, was the first player signed to the Rovers back in January and scored the inaugural goal for the Rovers men’s side last month in the team’s inaugural game against the Blue Devils FC.

A four-time League1 All-Star and a one-time League1 MVP, Allen becomes the first Rovers player to transfer to a higher level of football.

The forward scored two goals in three matches for the Rovers.

Club president, co-owner, and men’s sporting director Julian de Guzman said today is a proud day in Rovers history.

“Our mission as Rovers FC is to offer local players a platform to showcase their abilities and assist them in moving on to professional levels of soccer across the world. It is very rewarding for us to see our vision become a reality in such a short time frame.

“We are proud of Allen for earning this opportunity to make a transfer to the New Zealand Central League. We wish Leaford much success and have no doubt that he will continue to score goals and contribute to the success of his new club Napier City Rovers.”
